Cookies and browser storage
probo_consent- A first-party cookie written by the cookie banner. It remembers the banner version, your choice and categories, and a random visitor identifier, for the period set in the published banner.
probo_consent:…:vid- Local storage holding the random identifier used to retrieve and update the same choice. It stays until you clear site data.
probo_consent:…:queue- Local storage used only when a choice or report cannot reach the banner service. Delivered entries are removed; undelivered entries are discarded after no more than 30 days.
_ga- A first-party cookie set by Google Analytics only after you accept analytics. It holds a random identifier that lets Google Analytics count returning browsers. It lasts up to two years from your last visit.

Optional categories
Analytics is the only optional category this site uses. Google Analytics loads only if you accept it in the cookie banner, never before you choose. This site uses no advertising or social-media cookies, so the banner’s other optional categories have nothing to turn on. Any other optional technology will appear in the banner under its own category and be listed here before it is used.
Other services
Evidence cards from After Citizens United run no scripts and set no cookies. Fonts are served from this site. Google Analytics loads from googletagmanager.com only after you accept analytics. Cloudflare hosts the pages and, as currently configured, sets no cookies here. Pictures in news stories load from their publishers’ servers, which may use their own cookies if your browser allows them. The banner script comes from jsDelivr and talks to the project’s Probo service at probo.asktq.org. The privacy policy explains what it receives.
